Music of Social Justice: The 50th Anniversary of the May 4, 1970 Shootings at Kent State University  I will not be reading at these events, but one of the musical pieces being performed is based on one of my poems. Tuesday, April 21, 2020 @7:00 PM — May 4 Music & Poetry Event at Kent State — KSU music students will play new music inspired by poems about peace and transformation, selected by Naomi Shihab Nye as winners of the Wick Poetry Center’s contest.  I will read my winning poem “Legacy” at this event, which will be held in the Ludwig Recital Hall in the Center for the Performing Arts. (NOTE: as a follow-up, the next day Naomi Shihab Nye will do a reading co-sponsored by Kent State University Libraries from 7-9 p.m. in the Kiva Auditorium).

Saturday, April 25, 2020 10:30 AM-5:00 PM — Ohioana Book Festival—  Columbus Metropolitan Public Library’s Main Library at 96 S. Grant Avenue Columbus, OH 43215. I’ll be there selling copies of Rust Belt Love Song. Come say hello!

Thursday, December 12th, 2019 @ 7-8:30 PM Broadsides & Ephemera Reading at Loganberry Books in Shaker Heights. I’ll be the featured reader for the evening, and an open mic will follow. Come by and bring along your own work to share!

Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 @ Bookhouse Brewing 7-9 PM — Featuring @ the Bookhouse Brewing Open Mic brought to you by Barnhouse Journal. I’ll be opening the event, so get there early!

Saturday, July 6, 2019 @12-4 PM — Author Alley at Loganberry Books (in conjunction with Larchmere Festival) I’ll be joining lots of other local writers in this book expo & celebration. And yes, you guessed it — Loganberry will have copies of Rust Belt Love Song for sale.

Saturday, May 4, 2019 @ 1:30 PM — Cleveland launch of Rust Belt Love Song at Visible Voice! Come hear me read at one of my favorite local bookstores and pick up a copy of RBLS. I’ll be joined by the amazing poets Jason Harris and Mary Biddinger for what is sure to be an entertaining afternoon. Details here.

Friday, April 26, 2019 @ 6-8 PM — Penguin Review/Jenny Magazine Launch at YSU DeBartolo Club — I have a poem in the spring issue of Jenny, so I’ll be venturing down to the stomping grounds of my childhood to read at this premier. More info here.

March 30, 2019, 6:30-9 PM — Rust Belt Love Song launch at Make Shift Boston! This event will include a reading by yours truly as well as performances by several incredible Boston/Providence area poets. Space is limited, so you’ll need to sign up via Eventbrite for this (free) event.
